Prostate Cancer Symptoms and Treatment

PROSTATE CANCER

Prostate cancer is second to lung cancer as the main cause of cancer deaths among American men, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Although it is not common among Asians, your risk of prostate cancer is higher if there is a family history, specifically in a father or brother.

Most of the time, prostate cancer does not present with any symptoms. However, pay attention if you notice any of the following: Difficulty in urination. Pain when urinating/blood in urine. Weak urine flow. Constant pain in the low back and pelvis. Increase in frequency of urination, particularly at night.

These symptoms may not be necessarily indicate prostate cancer, but it is important -keep an eye out for sudden changes like these. Talk to your doctor if in doubt.
